Why should I hire a certified arborist for my trees?

All arborists should be trained in proper techniques for planting, caring for, and maintaining trees. They should be knowledgeable about a wide range of types of trees, familiar with common issues, and trained in how to care for them. They also need to have the proper equipment to perform their services safely and effectively.

While there are many ways to become an arborist, we recommend hiring a certified arborist who is guaranteed to have the training and skills you need to make sure your trees are properly cared for. Becoming a certified arborist means an individual has demonstrated their knowledge by passing a comprehensive exam on tree care. They are also required to receive ongoing education and commit to a code of ethics in order to maintain their certification. The result is an arborist who is highly knowledgeable about the latest techniques and safety standards in arboriculture.

At American Tree & Lawn, we are an active member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and have ISA Certified Arborists on staff. We are proud of our commitment to providing the best arboriculture services for our clients and supporting the future of the industry.

What is an Emerald Ash Borer? Do you offer EAB treatments?

The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a type of beetle that is native to Central Asia. Previous to them making their way to the United States, a majority of our native beetles only attacked weakened trees that were already dying. The EAB is different in that it will attack all ash trees, including healthy ones, and slowly kill them. EAB has been rapidly spreading across the United States and has killed millions of ash trees.

Female EABs lay their eggs underneath the bark of ash trees, where the larvae are born, and begin to feed on the tree for up to two years. With early detection, EAB infestations can be successfully irradicated via treatments. We offer injections directly into the tree’s tissue that work to kill the larvae that tunnel through the tree and cause it to die.

What payment options do you accept?

Our goal is to offer convenience for our customers at every step of the process, so we accept all types of major credit cards, cash, and personal checks.
